Our Custom Home Building Process
We want this to be an enjoyable experience for you. We do the footwork,
eliminating the stress that can come with building a new custom home.
We are in your corner every step of the way, from working with the
architect to interior design and landscaping.
We have outlined our custom homebuilding process below to give you
a better idea of what happens once you begin working with us.
1. We work
closely with you and the architect to design the custom home of your
dreams.
2. Once your
house plans are completed, they are given to our trade contractors
for pricing to determine our contract amount to build your custom
home.
3. We then
work with you to select the exterior colors of your custom home and
present them to the Architectural Review Board for approval. These
selections include the stucco or siding body and trim colors, roofing
shingle colors, type of windows and color, shutter colors and front
door color.
4. As part
of your selection process for interior allowance items, we include
15 hours of our professional interior designer’s time. This
is for the selection of your cabinets, counter tops, appliances, plumbing
and light fixtures, flooring including shower and tub walls, front
door, bath hardware and interior door hardware. All selections are
made prior to the construction of your custom home.
5. We work
closely with you and our landscape architect in the design of your
landscape package. Your landscape design package is also submitted
to the Architectural Review Board for their review and approval.
6. Once your
custom home is complete through the framing stage, an electrical walk-through
is scheduled to review all electrical locations. This takes approximately
three hours. At this time, any additional electrical options you prefer
can be added or changed.
7. Once your
custom home is completed, a time is scheduled for your orientation
tour. At this time we will familiarize you with all aspects of your
custom home including water and electrical shut-off areas, workings
of all appliances, making adjustments to your thermostat, changing
of filters, etc.
8. We ask
that you accumulate a list of items you would like to have addressed
during the first 30 days after your orientation. Call to schedule
a time with our customer service representative to review your punch
list items. Our customer service representative will contact you within
45 days of your orientation if we don’t hear from you.
Our goal is to make the building experience as seamless as possible
for our customers. Since a large percentage of our customers are not
present during the construction of their homes, we have refined our
process to be as customer-friendly as possible. You can visit the
Client’s Corner on our website to see the construction progress
of your custom home.
